Your first stop on this private day trip is the Jvari Monastery, a 6th-century marvel and UNESCO World Heritage site perched atop a hill, where you will admire Georgia's early Christian architecture, hear about the monastery's historical significance and marvel at the breathtaking views of the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers.

Travelling through the diverse Georgian landscape you will reach the historic town of Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin where you will visit the Stalin Museum. You will have the opportunity to explore the exhibits showcasing Stalin's early years, his rise to power, and his impact on the Soviet Union. The main highlights include his childhood home and his railway carriage, which he used to travel during and after World War II.  

After a lunch break, Uplistsikhe will be your next destination, an ancient rock-hewn town that dates back to the early Iron Age. Wander through the labyrinthine tunnels and chambers carved into the cliffs. You will discover pagan temples, Christian churches, and the remnants of ancient living quarters that offer a glimpse into life in this unique cave city which combines perfectly natural and man-made structures.

Continuing to Mtskheta, Georgia's spiritual heart and former capital, you'll explore the magnificent Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, another UNESCO World Heritage site. You will hear about the legends surrounding the cathedral, including the story of Christ's robe buried beneath its walls, and admire its stunning architecture which will make this one of the tour highlights.

Your last stop will be Samtavro Monastery, a place of deep religious significance and historical importance including a 4th-century church and a later medieval church associated with Saint Nino.

As the sun sets, you will make your way back to Tbilisi with a drop-off at your central hotel, leaving you with memories of an unforgettable journey through Georgia's past and present.
