Las Setas

Las Setas is a modern wooden structure in Seville with mushroom-like canopies, offering panoramic views, a market, and an archaeological museum.

Las Setas (The Mushrooms) is a striking wooden structure located in Seville's Plaza de la Encarnación. Officially known as Metropol Parasol, it was designed by architect Jürgen Mayer and completed in 2011. The modern landmark consists of six large, mushroom-like canopies made of timber and concrete, offering both an aesthetic and functional purpose.

The structure's unique design has made it one of Seville's most famous contemporary landmarks. At the top, there's a panoramic walkway that provides stunning views of the city, including the Seville Cathedral and the Giralda tower. Underneath the canopy, you'll find a market, a museum (the Antiquarium), and plenty of space for events and gatherings.

Las Setas has sparked both admiration and controversy due to its bold contrast with Seville’s traditional architecture, but it remains a must-see spot for visitors.
