Built in 1909, the Central Fire Station with its red and white striped "blood-and-bandage" architecture still stands tall and proud today, an iconic sight in the city. This is where you will commence your tour, before travelling on a traditional boat down the Singapore River, witnessing the dramatic collision of modern and ancient Singapore. The river was the mainstay of business and trading in days gone by, and the bumboats transported the goods to the warehouses lining the river bank.
