What makes this tour special
Warsaw is a bustling city that has become Poland’s preeminent cultural and economic hub, it is has been called the “Phoenix city” due to its ability to repeatedly rise from the devastation of invasions, wars and tyrannical rulers. The worst of this occurred during WW2 when after the Warsaw uprising against the Nazi German occupation many of the city’s finest monuments were razed. However the reconstructive work that has taken place since the war ensures that Warsaw is a city with some majestic landmarks and sights. The Sons of Warsaw
In this six hour tour, your expert local guide will direct you to some of the most important historical and cultural sites of this magnificent city. You will be met at either your hotel, or a prearranged meeting point, where you will begin your exploration of the very best of Warsaw. Visit the Old Town Square in the heart of the city and experience the striking mixture of architectural styles in one of the most beautiful squares in Warsaw. Admire the impressive Royal Castle, a replica of the official residence of the Polish monarchs, the original being destroyed in WW2 by the Nazis.
Experience the serenity of Lazienki Park, the largest park in the city. Its origins lie in the 17th Century when a notably Polish military commander founded it. View St John’s Cathedral the only archcathedral of the three cathedrals of Warsaw, built in the 14th century in a Masovian Gothic style. Bask in the splendor of the Saxon gardens which were built in a French Baroque style in the 1727, before famous parks such as Versaille. Take a stop in the Chopin Museum, this museum showcases the life and work of one of Warsaw’s most famous sons, with a selection of multimedia exhibitions.
