Elowah Falls

Elowah Falls, located in Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, plunges over a basalt cliff into a scenic pool surrounded by moss-covered rocks and ferns

Elowah falls is one of the lesser-known waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area within the John B. Yeon State Scenic Corridor. Located in northern Oregon, near the town of Bonneville, it is not directly visible from the highway, making it less crowded than other nearby waterfalls. The falls can be accessed by a short, pleasant hike through a forest of Douglas fir, bigleaf maple, and ferns. Upon arrival at the falls, visitors will see how the water plunges over basalt cliffs and lands upon striking moss-covered rocks.
