Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, also known simply as Liverpool Cathedral, is one of the most significant religious buildings in the United Kingdom and the largest cathedral in Britain. It is an imposing example of Gothic Revival architecture, designed by the celebrated architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The cathedral was constructed between 1904 and 1978, making it one of the last great cathedrals to be completed in the country. The cathedral's Gothic Revival design is characterized by its soaring arches, massive towers, and intricate stonework. It is the longest cathedral in the world, stretching 189 meters (620 feet) from end to end, and its central tower rises to a height of 101 meters (331 feet), making it one of the tallest in the world. 

Visitors can climb the 108 steps to the top of the central tower, where they are rewarded with panoramic views of Liverpool and the surrounding area. The tower also houses one of the world's heaviest and highest peals of bells, known as the "Great George" bell.
