Belfast City Hall

One of Belfast's most iconic buildings, Belfast City Hall first opened its doors in August 1906 and is Belfast's civic building.

Titanic Memorial Garden

Located on the east side of Belfast City Hall, the Titanic Memorial Garden commemorates the 1,512 people who perished on RMS Titanic in 1912.

St Mary's Roman Catholic Church

St Mary's dates back to 1783 and was the first Catholic church in Belfast city centre. There were only 365 Catholics living in Belfast at the time without a church, so a collection was made to build this church.

The Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum was the first national memorial to the hundreds killed in the Belfast blitz. It tells the story of how Northern Ireland was affected by and contributed to the Second World War.

St Anne's Cathedral

St. Anne's Cathedral is a cathedral of the Church of Ireland in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the center of the Cathedral Quarter. What is unique about this Cathedral is that it broke the mold by having the seats of two bishops: the Bishop of Connor and the Bishop of Down and Dromore.

Albert Memorial Clock

The Albert Memorial Clock was erected between 1865 and 1869 in Gothic style to commemorate Prince Albert, it was tall enough to offer an excellent vantage point for at least one enterprising sightseer to get a birds-eye view of Titanic’s launch.

Your walking tour will commence with the Belfast City Hall, where you can admire its superb art collection, opulent interiors, and formal rooms. Then discover the Titanic Memorial Gardens outside which names all 1,512 victims of the disaster. A short walk will take to you Belfast’s first Catholic Church, St. Mary’s, where you will learn from your guide about some of Northern Ireland’s troubled religious history. A visit then follows to the Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum, then the neighbouring Cathedral Church of St. Anne. Here, your guide will describe the history of the Plantation of Ulster and founding of Protestantism in the province. As the walk makes its way towards the docks, you will have time to see the Albert Memorial Clock Tower and the iconic Big Fish sculpture, before crossing River Lagan via the weir.

Your tour finishes at the Titanic Belfast museum, but not before seeing The Kit sculpture and looming cranes of Samson and Goliath, learning about Belfast’s ship building history as you go. Also, keep an eye out for the three Glass of Thrones stained glass windows which point to Belfast’s impressive contribution to modern TV. You will then be free to visit Titanic Belfast under your own terms.
