The Royal Collections Gallery is a museum in Madrid with a wide range of paintings, tapestries & other artefacts from the archives of the Spanish Royal Family

Located in the heart of the historic centre of Madrid, opposite the Royal Palace and adjacent to the Almudena Cathedral, the Galería de colecciones reales (Royal Collections Gallery in English) is an exciting new addition to the Madrid museum scene. Opened in 2023, it was specially designed and built to display some of the many paintings, tapestries, sculptures, jewels and other artefacts found within the extensive collections amassed by the Spanish Royal Family from the Middle Ages to the present day. Its contemporary minimalist design is meant to blend seamlessly into Plaza de la Armería's surrounding buildings. It was conceived and executed by celebrated Spanish architects Luis M. Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón and already won several prestigious architectural prizes.  

There are over 650 works currently displayed within the gallery including paintings artists like Titian, Goya, Velazquez and Caravaggio, tapestries, furtniture, weaponry and armour and beautiful Bourbon porcelain. The museum's layout is meant to guide visitors through the history of Spain’s monarchy, exploring how its power and influence were expressed through art.
