The Best of Munich

You will begin your tour of Munich, in the historic Old Town, where you will be visiting the 12th century, heart of the city- Marienplatz. Here you will see the neo-gothic Rathaus (New Town Hall), complete with its world-famous Glockenspiel clock. A short walk on, you will come across the Viktualienmarkt, a bustling market district where you can pick up anything from flowers, spices and traditional German fare. 

You will then head back to Marienplatz to see the stunning medieval Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Dear Lady), with its little green domes that sit atop its two towers and unrestricted views of beautiful Munich, and the Alps off into the distance. You will then have the pleasure of visiting Odeonsplatz which is home to fantastic German institutions such as the Concert Hall, Theatre, and the Residenz.

You will then hop on the U Bahn to Olympia Park, where you will have the chance to check out the mighty German automobile industry at the BMW Welt. From here you will have the chance to visit Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich. You will explore the stadium and learn all about its priceless football pitch, seating capacity, and impressive football alumni. 

You will take the U Bahn back to the Universitat station where you will then walk along the Isar and approach the beautiful Englischer Garten. Established in 1789, the Englischer Garten is Munich’s most famous city park and is also the oldest in the world. Here you will find the exceptional Chinesischer Turm (Chinese Tower), surrounded by a gorgeous oriental garden and cafe. After your tour you will either have the option of visiting a local Biergarten or the nearby Hofbrauhaus, a traditional German beer hall, serving amazing German food and the best local beers.
