Unlock the magic of Madison

Though Madison has served as the capital since the 1830's, the capitol building seen today was designed by Post in 1906 and took 10 years to complete.

Originally serving as a vaudaville theater, the Majestic Theater is one of the city's turn of the century treasures, even with the occasional ghost sightings inside.

Though it now serves as a maximum-security prison, the Old Madison Jail once stood on this same site and housed fewer than 10 prisoners on average.

Designed by local Wisconsiner, Frank Lloyd Wright, as a community center, the Monona Terrace project did not get underway until almost 18 years after it was proposed, as WW2 interrupted the project.

The art deco building built by Rapp & Rapp in 1926 remains one of the city's preeminent concert venues over a century after its construction.
