What makes this tour special

Experience the vibrant Bohemianism of Soho and Mayfair – the home of Rock & Roll legends in London. On your private tour you will:

London became the epicentre of the golden age of rock n roll in the 1960s and 70s, and on this private tour, you will explore the Bohemian culture of Soho and upmarket Mayfair, visiting places now famous – and infamous – for their association with rock legends like David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and so many more.

Your tour takes you through Bohemian Soho and upmarket Mayfair and begins in the heart of Soho Square where you’ll learn the fascinating histories of the rock legends that found fame in the heart of London. From Soho Square, explore the nooks and crannies and cobbled stone alleys of Bohemian, rock-n-roll London. You’ll walk along Denmark Street, nicknamed Tin Pan Alley, where artists like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Elton John and David Bowie all recorded music at various studios. It is also rumoured to be where Bob Marley bought his first guitar!

You will pass various iconic music clubs where famed acts and musicians have played – like 100 Club Oxford Street which hosted Louis Armstong. One of the highlights of the tour is visiting Berwick Street – famous for its eclectic collection of old vinyl shops, great for stocking up on your own supplies.

Walk down legendary, vibrant London streets including Carnaby and the famous store Liberty’s, see the Ziggy Stardust Plaque which appears on the cover of David Bowie's ‘The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars’. It was shot in January 1972, five months before the album's release, by photographer Brian Ward. A blue plaque marks the spot!

See the hotel owned by Iron Maiden on Sanctum Street and stop at the famous number 3, Savile Row in Mayfair where the Beatles played their last ever public set on the rooftop.

Enjoy the upmarket ambience of Mayfair and see the Hilton Hotel where Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd lived from 1972. You can also see the building where members from The Who and The Mamas & Papas died four years apart, both aged 32.

Perhaps wander further up to Park Lane and the Dorchester, down Curzon Street and into the beautiful Berkeley Square where you can end at a wine bar on Shepherd’s Market. There is so much rock n roll history in London and so many landmarks to see, your guide will always tailor the tour to your own Rock n Roll passions!
