What makes this tour special
You will be taking a scenic journey by car to the medieval town of Antibes. Here you will explore the Old Town, where Picasso lived and worked; marvel at the 16th century ramparts, built by Vauban; and admire the imposing Grimaldi castle that now hosts the Picasso museum. You will also have the opportunity to visit the colourful Provencal Market and explore the myriad charming shop-lined streets. Absolutely not to be missed is the beautiful Antibes Harbour where you will see the many mega-yachts that the area is famous for.
You will journey onwards by car through the Cap d’Antibes: a popular summer and winter resort for such American writers as: Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway; artists including Jules Verne, Honoré de Balzac, Auguste Renoir, and Claude Monet.
You will continue to the glamorous city of Cannes, where you will pay a visit to the renowned Cannes Film Festival Palace and walk along the famous Croisette Boulevard. Here you will learn how the lure of sandy beaches and prestigious hotels have attracted celebrities from Marilyn Monroe to Scarlett Johansson. You will also have the chance to admire the many fashionable designer boutiques as you explore the le Suquet Old Town.
This spectacular tour will conclude at one of the true jewels of the French Riviera- the medieval village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, and made famous by the actors and artists that lived here, including: Bonnard, Braque, Dufy, Matisse, and Chagall. You will follow in the very footsteps of these artists as you stroll along the narrow cobblestone streets, visit some independent galleries, and marvel at the many Renaissance style fountains in the area. You will also have the chance to enjoy a panoramic, and stunning view of the countryside and the Southern Alps.
