What makes this tour special
We have all heard of Marco Polo, but did you know that Marco Polo was born in Korčula – an island that is only two hours of driving time from Dubrovnik?
This famous Korčula citizen still attracts the attention of visitors today.
It is one of the best preserved medieval old towns, with timeless beauty and stories imprinted in the stone, just waiting to be told and for you to listen...
Plenty of narrow cobbled streets await you on this excursion, as well as the Marco Polo house and the museum, where you will learn many of Korčula’s rich traditions, which to this day are passed on from generation to generation.
The pride of Korčula are its premium white wines, which you can experience in our wine bar, as well asauthentic local dishes that will scintillate your palate.
This tiny town is designed in the shape of a fish with the main street separating the eastern and western sides and the streets stretch out horizontally like fish bones. It's strongly known for it vineyards and hidden bays.
A must see is Korčula’s old town, as its full of medieval secrets and houses many stone houses and towers used in the past for defense purposes. As you enter old town, you come across a 19th century staircase which leads you to Revelin Tower which was built in the 13th century. Here you're able to see amazing views of the Strait of Pelješac and the old town below you.
Marco Polo, a famous explorer from the 13th century lived in Korčula under the name Marko Polic. The house here named after him, in the heart of the old town to commemorate his life there in the city. The 2 story house not only has placards explaining Marco's life there in the city but provides the most stunning vantage point over the island. *Marco Polo Musuem is currently under restoration and is not open to the public until 2019.
